My latest visit to Spain was a week full of tapas and cava, late night discussions about identity, the ongoing gentrification of cities and the politics of superillas. All of this on top of an intense but immensely fun USk workshop in Poblenou, Barcelona about space.
Starting off with some leisure time in Blanes, north of Barcelona, we headed back to the big city for the PYSB workshop ‘Space Oddities’ aimed at exploring different ways of representing space – led by illustrators and artists Isabel Carmona, Swasky and Lapin.
Many thanks to the graffiti in Poblenou that often saved my sketches when I got lost in lines. This one from a session with Swasky who taught us his secrets of capturing multi viewpoint sketches. Extremely fun, but difficult to keep all the points in mind!
A big thanks to Isabel, Swasky and Lapin for organizing the whole event and to all urban sketchers whose company I enjoyed every day.
Hasta pronto España.
